The sides sit seventh and eighth in the league, separated by six points. Sale will still hold onto the lead in the league over Gloucester even if they lose. They are also separated by 15 points from the Saracens in sixth, so Sale wouldn’t be able to catch them.

Gloucester have won two of their four matches since the Six Nations break came to an end. Both of those wins have been by one score or less. In the last round, they picked up a narrow win at home. They led 34-19 with 15 minutes to go, and despite two late tries for Exeter, they won the game 34-31.

Sale Sharks have won two of the last six games, and both of those came against the Harlequins, once in the PREM and once in the Champions Cup. After an embarrassing home defeat to Saracens, they beat Harlequins 52-33 at the Stoop. The game has massive swings in momentum. Sale went 12-0 ahead, and Harlequins scored three in a row to go 21-12 ahead. Sale scored twice to take a 24-21 lead into halftime. Harlequins scored two more to go 33-24 ahead, but Sale scored four in a row in the last 20 minutes to win 52-33.
