Cardiff vs Ospreys URC preview as the sides meet at Cardiff Arms Park in a Welsh Derby.

Cardiff currently sit seventh with a good chance of finishing inside the top eight. They sit just two points ahead of Connacht in ninth and, therefore, without picking up a win, would be at risk of missing out on the playoffs and Champions Cup next year.

Ospreys sit in 10, and while they still have a mathematical chance of reaching the top eight, it would be difficult to close the 11-point gap in three games. They are level on points with the Sharks and could fall below her.

Cardiff have only two of their last six matches; however, this did include a two-game tour of South Africa, where they lost both matches. In the last round, they won 28-24 through a last-minute try against the Scarlets. With 25 minutes to go, Cardiff were 24-7 behind, but three converted tries in the last 10 minutes got them the win.

The Ospreys won their match in round 15 of the URC to end a three-game losing streak. They were leading 14-12 at halftime after tries from Dan Edwards and Jac Morgan. They scored again early in the second half to extend the game to a large enough lead that a try for the Sharks with 10 minutes to go was not enough.
