All Blacks and Springboks captains meet in build up to the first test

Ardie Savea, captain of the All Blacks came together with injured captain of the Springboks, Siya Kolisi to attend church together, just six days before the first test of the Greatest Rivalry Tour.

Savea shared pictures on Instagram of him with Kolisi, having joined the Springboks captain at his local service in the build up to the game.

The post read;

“Nothing better than being in the presence of the lord w my brother in Christ

A powerful word today on staying –

Faithful in unexpected places

Acts 28:1-11”

Savea had been given extended rest from the Nations Championship campaign and only flew out to South Africa this week with the squad having played against three of the South African URC franchises so far.

It is not unusual for Savea to share his faith online regularly using Worship music in his reels and also carrying out bible studies and devotions on his YouTube channel.

One fan commented, “Incredible. While the SA and NZ fans rip each others heads off, the Captains are together in church. Let that be a lesson to us all.”

Faith has been a theme throughout this tour so far with players from the All Blacks seen praying with members from each of the franchises in the games so far.
