All Blacks legend could face off against the ABs in Greatest Rivalry tour

All Blacks legend Ma’a Nonu could be in line to play against the All Blacks in the Greatest Rivalry Tour.

It was recently announced that Nonu would be joining the Sharks in an advisory role.

One of his current teammates had previously met him when he was 12 in 2014 and the picture has been spreading on social media.

Could Nonu play against the All Blacks?

The All Blacks play the Sharks next Tuesday, the 11th August and with all of their Springboks away and the URC squad still in the early stages of preseason, they could give Nonu a chance off the bench to play against his nation.

The Sharks took to social media to share a quote from their media officer.

He said, “We can neither confirm – nor deny – that Ma’a Nonu might – or might not – face the All Blacks. Just for the record.”

The quotes came out on Nonu’s first day at the Sharks.

Nonu played 103 times for the All Blacks making his debut in 2003 and retired after becoming a double World Cup winner in 2015. Even though he retired from international rugby more than 10 years ago, he has still been playing in France, America, New Zealand and now South Africa since then.
