Ireland continued their strong form from the Six Nations and have now won five games in a row. They faced plenty of challenges in their opener against Australia. Ireland found themselves behind for 60 minutes of the game, only leading for 17 minutes. With over 25 minutes to go they were five points behind and applied consistent pressure. They consistently kicked to the corner and couldn’t get over the line until Thomas Clarkson scored with four minutes to go. Ben Donaldson had a long kick in the final play to win it for the Wallabies but pushed it wide.
