Wales vs Barbarians preview as the sides meet at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

Steve Tandy’s side will be without their English-based players as they take on the invitational side, the Barbarians. Wales finished a difficult Six Nations on a high, with a win over Italy. They are preparing for Rugby Nations Championship fixtures against Fiji, Argentina and the Springboks.

The Barbarians started their tour last week in South Africa, where they were heavily defeated.

Wales had a real struggle early in the Six Nations and lost their opening four games of the tournament. They were moments away from beating Scotland in round three, but conceded in the final five minutes. They then put in a valiant defensive performance against Ireland, but the hosts in Dublin were too strong for the Welsh. In the final game, they managed to win convincingly against Italy, and shortly after halftime, they were 31-0 ahead. Italy would score three tries, but that would only bring them within 14 points.

The Barbarians are a touring side, and therefore, the team changes don’t make results too important for the side. They played South Africa last week and suffered a heavy loss.
