Exeter Chiefs vs Bath Gallagher PREM preview as they clash at Sandy Park, trying to secure a place in the top four of the PREM.

Bath currently sit four points behind Northampton Saints, who lost out to Leicester Tigers the day before this game. This gives them an opportunity to go back to the top of the table. 

The Exeter Chiefs currently sit fourth, but after Saturday’s games are under pressure from below as they are only one point ahead of the Bristol Bears, and the Saracens are three points behind them in sixth.

Exeter Chiefs lost out on a place in the Challenge Cup final when they lost out to Ulster. Before that, they had lost their last two Prem matches in a row, including a shock defeat to Gloucester. Against Ulster, Exeter were putting up a great fight in the first half, Ulster kicked a last play penalty to go 10-7 ahead. Ulster would go on and score three tries to go 29-7 ahead. Ridl scored last play but it only brought it back to 29-12.

Bath had won five in a row before the last round of the Prem. They lost narrowly in the last PREM game to Northampton Saints, although Bath had rotated their squad for this game to prepare for the Champions Cup semi-final. In that semi-final, they lost 38-26 to Bordeaux, although the game was marred with controversy after a series of high tackles on Alfie Barbeary.
