Rugby News Today, where the Irish provinces have announced a range of contract extensions and Leicester Tigers have snatched a great coach from Connacht.

Munster announce contract extensions for two Ireland internationals

In the last 24 hours, Munster have announced the contract extensions of Edwin Edogbo and Calvin Nash. This season has been a difficult one for the Southern province, but getting two key players tied down to extended contracts.

Connacht assistant coach to Leicester Tigers

Brett Deacon is leaving Leicester and will go to Gloucester to become their new forwards coach. Peter Hewat is also leaving as attack coach

Leicester have replaced Hewat with Rod Seib, who has been Stuart Lancaster’s assistant at Connacht.

Byrne leads the way in Leinster contract extensions

Leinster have announced a handful of contract extensions led by Harry Byrne, who has been the top points scorer for the club this year.

Leinster also announced that James Culhane will also extend, and Conor O’Tighearnaigh will sign his first professional deal for the province.

Bell injury not as bad as first feared

Ulster announced a long list of fresh injuries that will make Angus Bell, Scott Wilson, Tom O’Toole, James Hume, Jude Postlethwaite and Bryn Ward out for the meeting with Munster on Saturday evening.

There were major fears for Angus Bell’s ankle injury, but it has been confirmed that it will not be as bad as first thought.
