Gael Fickou

Gael Fickou is set to make a switch to Toulon at the end of the season, leaving behind Racing 92.

The French international will move from Racing 92 to join the former European Champions at the end of the season after joining Racing in 2021. This will be the centre’s fourth club. He has also played for Toulouse and Stade Français.

According to L’Equipe, the agreement will see the French player released from his contract a year early to join Toulon on a two-year deal.

Fickou’s French career

Fickou made his debut for France at just 18 years old in the 2013 Six Nations against Scotland, scoring his first try for his nation the following year against England.

The centre went on to make 98 appearances for his country and has scored 17 tries, including three at World Cups.

He featured just once for France in the 2025 Six Nations, but was a huge surprise to miss out on the 2026 Six Nations, where France went on to retain their title.

What next at Toulon?

Toulon are currently preparing for a Champions Cup semi-final against Leinster, and while their form hasn’t been great in recent months in the league, they are still only two points behind eighth place. They face Montauban this weekend, who have only won one league match all year and will aim to catch Racing 92 in seventh with a bonus point win.
