Bath vs Saracens European Champions Cup preview as the sides meet at the Rec.

Bath won Pool 2 in the group phase of the competition with three wins and one loss. Their only loss came away to Toulon, who finished second in the group. 

Saracens finished fourth in their group with two wins over Clermont and Toulouse. They lost both of their away games, though to Glasgow and the Sharks.

Bath have been in great form recently, winning their last four Prem matches and their last two Champions Cup games. In their last Prem game, they travelled to the Sale Sharks. Despite taking a 7-0 lead, they found themselves 19-7 behind at halftime. They scored four second-half tries, to Sale’s one, to win 26-31.

Saracens had a tough set of fixtures after the return to the Prem after the Six Nations break, with fixtures against the top two sides. They lost the first game to Bath heavily, but in the last round only narrowly lost out to Northampton. Saracens were 14-0 down after 14 minutes, but scored two tries and a penalty unopposed to take a 17-14 lead. They conceded late to lost it 21-7.

Bath have held a recent dominance in this fixture, winning three of the four meetings in the last two seasons. The game won by the Saracens was a 10-point margin when Bath had already secured a top-four spot. They played at the Rec just a few weeks ago, and Bath pulled out a huge 62-15 win, with Henry Arundell scoring two tries.
