Shane Williams makes bold claim ahead of Wales-England clash

Former Wales wing Shane Williams believes that the current England side would beat New Zealand at this moment in time as a result of their strong form in recent weeks, the BBC report.

Eddie Jones’ side are currently ranked third in the world, behind Ireland and the All Blacks, who they have failed to defeat in their previous six encounters.

England have begun the Six Nations in superb fashion, defeating Ireland in Dublin before brushing aside France at Twickenham.

Jones and England are now preparing to take on Wales, who have also won their opening two Six Nations matches.

And talking to BBC Radio 5 live, Williams, who scored a record 58 tries in his 87 international appearances between 2000 and 2011, heaped praise on the current England crop.

England are playing the best rugby in the Six Nations at the moment. It would take a hell of a team to beat them.

If the All Blacks came to Twickenham on Saturday, I think that England would win – that is how good I think they are.

Despite praising Jones’ side, Williams went on to add how he believes Wales can cause an upset and defeat England in Cardiff on Saturday.

Wales have not shown their hand at the moment and at home they are a different animal.

This match reminds me of 2013 when England were coming for the Grand Slam and Wales put 30 points on them. I don’t think that is going to happen on Saturday, but I really think any team could win this.
