Ireland’s Sexton set to be fit for England opener

Ireland fly-half Johnny Sexton is expected to be fit in time for the Six Nations opener against England, according to a report on BBC Sport.

Leinster boss Leo Cullen has admitted that Sexton should be back to full fitness after suffering a knee injury, keeping him out of action for almost one month.

Cullen is confident that the world player of the year will be fit and raring to go on February 2nd in Dublin.

Cullen said:

Johnny is good, he was back running last week.

He is not a million miles away, and hopefully, we will see him out in green over the course of the next few weeks.

Ireland will be desperate to defend the Six Nations crown that they fought so hard to achieve last year, but they know that Eddie Jones’ England players will be fired up and looking to make up for their disappointing tournament last year.
