England have received a huge boost ahead of their second Test against South Africa as lock Joe Launchbury has been passed fit to play, according to a report on BBC Sport.
The second-row player missed last week’s 42-39 defeat with a calf problem but he has been declared fit for the second Test and is expected to go straight back into the starting lineup.
Assistant coach Steve Borthwick announced his return and had some positive things to say about his comeback. He said:
Joe trained very well today and is fit and available for selection. Even though he wasn’t available for selection last week, his influence was excellent, which was a great credit to him.
Head coach Eddie Jones will be hoping for a different outcome against the Springboks at Bloemfontein on Saturday.
England gave up a huge lead to lose the match and know that mistakes like that could prove to be costly at next year’s world cup. Jones will announce the team for the match tomorrow.
