Glasgow v Scarlets – Five Key Battles

As the climax of the Pro14 season approaches, all eyes are turning to the final four showdown to taking place this weekend.

Leinster and Munster clash in an all-Irish affair on Saturday afternoon, but Friday night belongs to the respective shining stars of Welsh and Scottish club rugby.

Scarlets and Glasgow have both enjoyed fantastic campaigns in the competition this year, but they will matter little should they encounter defeat on the referee’s final whistle come tomorrow night.

With a Pro14-best record of 15 wins, 5 defeats, and one draw, the Glasgow Warriors topped Conference A with ease. Dave Rennie steered the team to a season so impressive he has been linked to succeed Wales coach Warren Gatland.

Scarlets have been as good as they come this year as well, going 14-1-6. Missing out on topping Conference B on the ‘points scored’ tiebreaker, Wayne Pivac will have to take a more challenging route to the Pro14 final than he otherwise might have.

After losing to Leinster in the semi-final of the European Cup, Scarlets will be eager to go one step further in their domestic competition.

Here are the five key battles that will determine who becomes the first Pro14 finalist:
