England and Bath back Anthony Watson will miss the rest of the season after sustaining an Achilles injury.
Substituted prior to the conclusion of the first half of England’s final Six Nations match with Ireland, it has been determined the ailment is serious enough to keep him out of action for the foreseeable future.
The recovery process is expected to take any amount of time up to six months, which would also rule him out of England’s tour to South Africa in June.

Watson had appeared in each of his nation’s Six Nations matches, but experienced a familiarly frustrating tournament for a member of the England team.
Despite scoring two tries in the opening round against Italy, Watson was kept quiet from that point forward.
A British and Irish Lion, there’s no doubting the talent the 24-year-old can offer – and as such, England and Bath will be crossing their fingers for a speedy and full recovery.

Bath sit seventh in the Premiership table, and will have to conclude their season without their exciting wing.
