Ford dropped for final round of Six Nations

Fly-half George Ford has been dropped by Eddie Jones for Saturday’s Six Nations conclusion against Ireland, following two consecutive defeats for England.

Owen Farrell moves from inside centre to wear the number 10 shirt, as Ben Te’o moves into the midfield alongside Jonathan Joseph.

Elsewhere, Danny Care, Joe Launchbury and Dan Cole all lose their spots in the starting XV, and Dylan Hartley returns as captain.

Courtney Lawes and Nathan Hughes are both ruled out with injury, with James Haskell and Sam Simmonds replacing the pair respectively.

Exeter Chief Don Armand is on the bench with a chance to win his second cap.

With two gutting defeats ending England’s 2018 Six Nations, Jones knows things aren’t getting any easier as they face up to Ireland.

Ireland is a very good team,

We have seen in every game the physical contest has been quite enormous so we have to meet that physical challenge and then play smart tactically.

England: Watson; May, Joseph, Te’o, Daly; Farrell, Wigglesworth; M Vunipola, Hartley, Sinckler, Itoje, Kruis, Robshaw, Haskell, Simmonds.

Replacements: George, Marler, Cole, Launchbury, Armand, Care, Ford, Brown
