Scottish veteran scrum-half Greig Laidlaw has poured adoration over his teammate Finn Russell.
The fly-half turned in a man of the match performance in the last round, as Scotland fought home to a memorable 25-13 win against England – their first such victory in nine years.

After a tricky start to the Six Nations for Russell, his performance was indicative of his resurgent personality, in the eyes of Laidlaw.
I wasn’t worried about him, I felt he was in a good place,
He may have had a couple of sticky moments in the first two games but you are never going to get it all your own way in Test rugby.
When Finn’s having tough times, it’s about players chipping in on either side of him to make sure we are all pulling in the same direction.

With a critical game in the tournament looming in Dublin this weekend, Laidlaw was wary of how the team’s changes rested on the performance the 25-year-old Russell would turn in.
We’ll need him to play well on Saturday.
When he’s in that confident mood, we feel as though we can break any defence in the world,
The 32-year-old Laidlaw also commented on how he believed their talisman could lift the form of those around him:
It’s brilliant to play alongside him. The players around him, in the back division and the forwards, love having him there as he has such a sharp pass.
