Wasps have announced another signing ahead of the 2016/2017 campaign, securing the signing of former Bath player Kyle Eastmond.
The 27-year-old England international has been described as one of the Premiership’s most ‘exciting’ centres by Dai Young, Wasps’ director of rugby.
Eastmond has just six caps to his name and wasn’t selected for England’s World Cup squad, he is now hoping that a strong season could get him back in an England jersey and into Eddie Jones’ eyesight.
He described Wasps’ style of play as ‘interesting’, saying “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge with Wasps.”
Eastmond made a swift transition from Rugby League, with St. Helens, to the Rugby Union has started to establish a name for himself.
Dai Young discussed the move, explaining how Wasps already have an “impressive group of backs” and added that he was “looking forward to adding his talent” to the squad.
Eastmond scored two tries in last season’s campaign, played over 500 minutes, made ten appearances and presented himself to other clubs with his impressive work rates and style of play.
The transfer means that Wasps have secured a dozen signings for the upcoming season, as they hope to improve their chances of reaching the Premiership final.
