Glasgow Warriors have signed Fijian scrum-half Nemia Kenatale on a one-year deal, the club’s official website has confirmed.
Kenatale had previously being plying his trade in Romania, with Steaua Bucuresti and Farul Constanţa respectively.
Kenatale was a member of the Fiji World Cup squad last year, and scored a try in their only victory of the tournament against Uruguay. Overall, he has 44 caps for his country and has scored a total of 40 points. He is currently the first-choice scrum-half for Fiji, with almost eight years of international experience under his belt.
Speaking to the media, Glasgow Warriors coach Gregor Townsend said how delighted he was to be able to bring such an experienced player on board.
We’re looking forward to welcoming Nemia to Glasgow this summer. He is an experienced scrum-half, having played regularly for Fiji over the last few seasons.

Townsend explained the benefits of 30-year-old Kenatale’s playing style.
He excels in the fundamentals of scrum-half play – getting quickly to rucks and passing accurately to his stand-off. Like most Fijians, Nemia thrives when the tempo of a game is high, which is the way we aspire to play.
He also said that Kenatale comes in as a replacement for Mike Blair, who recently retired.
With Mike Blair retiring we’re delighted Nemia has agreed to join us to compete with the other scrum-halves at the club.
In the 2015/16 season, Glasgow Warriors were the only non-Irish club to reach the Pro12 playoffs. They were defeated in the semi-final by eventual winners Connacht.
