Luke Fitzgerald will miss Ireland’s summer tour of South Africa through a knee injury, according to Sky Sports.
FItzgerald sustained the knee injury in his side, Leinster’s, loss in the Pro12 Final on Saturday against Connacht.
It is believed that uncapped Connacht winger Matt Healy will be called up to the Irealad squad as Fitzgerald’s replacement.
Coach Joe Schmidt revealed the injury when speaking to the press.
Unfortunately Luke Fitzgerald picked up a knee injury in the game and he will be replaced

Schmidt confirmed that it would be Healy or his team-mate Tiernan O’Halloran who would join up with the squad in place of xx-year-old Fitzgerald.
Due to Luke picking up the knee injury one of those Connacht players is likely to be in the frame to be his replacement.
The 50-year-old coach expressed the benefits of Matt Healy replacing Fitzgerald due to their similarity in positioning and preferred foot.
One of the advantages with Matt is that he’s a left-footed left winger and like-for-like with Luke. He’s certainly a guy who’s in contention.
Luke Fitzgerald has 34 caps for Ireland, and has scored a total of 20 points. He made his international debut in a friendly in 2006 and since then has featured in four Six Nations tournaments and the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
