Scarlets have signed South African international prop Werner Kruger on a three-year deal.
Kruger joins the Pro12 club from Super Rugby side Bulls, and will join up with the Welsh club ahead of the 2016/17 season.
The 31-year-old has four Springbok caps to his name, as well as coming up to the Northern Hemisphere with a wealth of Super Rugby experience. He made just under 250 showings in South Africa for Blue Bulls and Bulls in 13 years playing rugby in his home-land.

Having just lost prop Rhodri Jones to rivals Ospreys, Kruger will come in as a straight replacement in the Scarlets front-row. Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac says that Kruger can strengthen his side at the set-piece:
We’re pleased to announce that Werner will join us ahead of the forthcoming 2016-17 season.
He will further strengthen us at the set piece and will bring vast experience having played both sides of the scrum. To have a player of Werner’s experience available for the whole season is something we haven’t had for some time.
