Scotland to assess Tommy Seymour

Scotland winger Tommy Seymour has had his foot put in a padded cast after suffering a sprained ankle in Saturday’s Six Nations defeat to Wales, according to BBC Sport. Reports show that he will need ongoing care and assessments in the lead up to their fixture against Italy on the 27th.

Scotland have other injury worries as Richie Gray recovers from the same injury and Blair Cowan who got concussed late in the match, but apparently he should recover in time. Cowan, who replaced John Barclay for the final 15 minutes, will be subject to the rule that allows him to play at his club London Irish in the ‘fallow’ week before the Six Nations resumes.

Scotland haven’t won a game in this tournament since they beat Italy two years ago after Wales beat them 27-23 in a tight game thanks to tries from Davies, Roberts and North to put them 2nd on the table with 3 points, but they could get leapfrogged if England beat Italy on Sunday.
