WRU provide Biggar injury update

The WRU have today stated that Dan Biggar is making “excellent progress” after sustaining a foot injury on Sunday and could be available for selection this weekend.

The Ospreys fly-half suffered a foot injury inside the first minute of Wales’ opening Six Nations game against Ireland when he landed awkwardly after taking a high ball.

Medical staff have revealed that the injury is not as bad as first feared and that he could be in contention to play against Scotland this weekend at the Principality Stadium.David Rogers/Getty Images Sport

Gatland is expected to make a decision on Biggar’s fitness later this week.

The Welsh squad meet up tomorrow to prepare for their clash against the Scots, days after their 16-16 draw with Ireland in Dublin.

Wales will need to win if they have ambitions of winning the tournament, whilst Scotland will be keen to bounce back from the narrow 15-9 defeat to England at Murrayfield.

Wales have not lost to Scotland since 2007 and Scotland have not beaten the Welsh in Cardiff since the 2002 Six Nations when they won 22-27.
