Biggar is prepared for Wales responsibility

Wales international, Dan Biggar, has exclaimed that he is adapting well to his new pressures of acquiring the number ten role for his country.

The 26-year-old will start in Wales’ first Six Nations fixture this year, playing Ireland at the Aviva Stadium this Sunday.

The fly-half will want to impress his coach, Warren Gatland, as Wales are considered to be one of the favourites for winning the tournament.

The first choice fly-half and Ospreys star is conscious of his role in the Welsh squad and what he must do in order to assist his team to a possible fifth Six Nations title.

Speaking to Radio 5 Live, Biggar said “a lot more is expected of you. The pressure is difficult because the focus on 10 in Wales is 10 times more than any other position,”

“It’s nice when things are going well and it’s a pretty difficult position when you lose or don’t quite fire on all cylinders.

“When I was younger I would go in on days off and look at kicking and extra patterns but as I’ve got a little bit older those days are so important to relax and get away from rugby.”

After facing tournament rivals Ireland, Wales must face Scotland, France, England and Italy respectively.

Gatland’s side will travel to Twickenham as well as the Aviva Stadium. They will host Italy, Scotland and France.

England, Ireland and Scotland will be putting the pressure onto Wales as they will try and fight for the prestigious championship win.
