After a successful Rugby World Cup that ended very controversially, Scotland will be hoping to carry that good form into the RBS Six Nations this year; which they start against England at Murrayfield.
Today head coach Vern Cotter announced the 35 players that had been selected for Scotland’s Six Nations campaign set to start next month. Once again, Glasgow Warriors are unsurprisingly the most represented club with 16 players selected by the head coach.
Ryan Wilson has not been selected after he was cited this weekend for grabbing Lee Dickson’s testicles, although according to the BBC Vern Cotter said:
We made a decision with Ryan before he was cited.
We’re happy with the way he has been improving but we feel that the [other] players are playing better than he is at the moment.
I had a good talk with him last week. He is focussing on his game and he could come into contention as the competition goes on.
Tim Swinson also received a yellow card at the weekend but has made the cut whilst Cotter has also selected two uncapped props in Zander Fagerson and Rory Sutherland.
Mark Bennett, Peter Horne, Tommy Seymour and Tim Visser are included, even though they are nursing injuries.
The players that have been selected are:
