Cronin and Sherry extend Munster deals

Munster Rugby duo James Cronin and Mike Sherry have been the latest to sign new deals with the club, extending their contracts for the foreseeable future.

After an impressive string of performances, prop Cronin has signed a deal that will keep him with Munster until the summer of 2019. Cronin has been a key part of Munster’s side throughout the last few years, ever since becoming a senior player in the team when he signed his first professional deal in 2013.

The 25-year-old has made 26 appearances for Rugby and as a result, of his excellent displays has earned himself a regular place in his native Ireland’s side.

Along with Cronin, hooker Sherry has extended his deal with Munster up until June 2018 after the 27-year-old has produced good performances for the club in his seven-year tenure with them.

Despite a hugely disappointing injury to his knee – Sherry has been out for over 21 months now, an injury that has ruled him out of the start of the season. However, from his 82 appearances from Munster, scoring eight tries during his time at the club, it is easy to see why his contract was extended further.

Is the decision to extend both Cronin and Sherry’s contracts a good one?
