England captain Chris Robshaw has insisted that he will back new head coach Eddie Jones if he feels that a new captain is necessary.
It has been widely rumoured that the flanker, currently plying his trade at Harlequins, is set to be replaced as England captain, with Northampton hooker Dylan Hartley being viewed as the main favourite to take the captaincy.
Robshaw was one of the first names on the team sheet for former head coach Stuart Lancaster, featuring as captain in 42 out of 43 of his international appearances, but this stat is set to come to an end with Jones taking the reigns at England.

If Eddie decides to go to someone else I’d respect that decision and fully back the person who comes in. As a player you want to be part of that team and my mentality is to first and foremost make sure I’m part of that team; that has to be the focus, to make sure I’m playing.
The 29-year-old is also being considered for a position change in the England set up as a result of Jones’ arrival, with the Australian looking to play Robshaw as a blind-side flanker as opposed to on the open side – the current captain’s most familiar position.
