Saracens still unbeaten after bonus point against Oyonnax

Saracens could hardly have had a better start to the season as they have won all of their games and have scored 284 points and 31 tries so far this season, which on top of their nine victories has given them five try scoring bonus points combined domestically and in Europe.

The most recent of these bonus point victories came today at the expense of Oyonnax who are a team languishing at the bottom of the Top 14. The scoreline of 10-45 at the end of a tough 80 minutes for the French where they conceded six tries shows just what kind of form Saracens are in as they were missing George Kruis due to a minor injury and players such as Jacques Burger and young talent Ben Spencer were left out of the side.

However, they were still able to dominate in all areas of the pitch as tries came from Goode, Wyles, Itoje, Wigglesworth, Brits as well as a penalty try in the first half. Although, the visitors didn’t have it all their own way as Oyonnax scrum-half replacement Arthur Aziza crossed for a consolation score.

This performance will give new England Head Coach Eddie Jones much to think about as names such as the Vunipola brothers, Itoje, Fraser, Goode, Ashton, Wigglesworth and George continue to press their claim to be in the 31 man squad for the Six Nations in February next year.

However Owen Farrell was the man who really stood out for the Londoners as his creativity in attack which was crucial in many of the tries and his extremely accurate boot, proved that claims that he is a dull and boring fly-half with very little attacking threat were just claims with no truth behind them.

This huge bonus point victory puts Saracens in a very good position at the top of Pool A and has many people wondering who can actually beat them as they continue to perform to extremely high standards with an added creativity from last season and a deadly accuracy that every team they come up against is finding impossible to cope with.
