Jack Bechta, the man who responsible for orchestrating the transition of rugby league star, Jarryd Hayne, to the NFL is now setting his sights on several Rugby World Cup stars, The Telegraph reports.
Bechta also represented Hayden Smith, who made the transfer across codes in 2012, leaving Saracens in favour of the New York Jets.
The NFL agent is organising “try-out camps” in the UK and Australia, resembling the camps that college football stars in the US endure in order to test the skills required for a player to survive in the NFL.
Eight players have have been personally selected by the agent who he “would love to get his hands on.” He left the players unnamed to quench speculation.
“I have had several high-level discussions with some of the best players in the world,” claimed Bechta, who hopes to create a link between rugby and American football. “I have been contacted by a lot of agents who want to build those bridges to the NFL.”
Bechta also made it very clear that any transition will not be a certainty, as shown in Hayne’s case. The former rugby league player was dropped to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad after six regular season games.

Another rugby player who is now trying to pick up an NFL contract is Tom Burgess, brother of Sam. Burgess has tried to impress the New York Giants, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills playing as a tight end.
