Wasps come into the game with four wins from their last four in all competitions, including superb victories over Leinster and Toulon in Europe.
But the Chiefs have only lost once in Aviva Premiership Rugby league all season – a narrow defeat at Bath Rugby on the opening weekend.
Last time these two teams came face to face with each other at the Ricoh Arena in the league, Wasps won the much anticipated fixture, courtesy of a great solo try from their scrum-half Joe Simpson.
The home team have been the victors in this mid-table fixture for the past four matches.
Wasps prop Jake Cooper-Woolley said that he believes the boys in black and gold can get another good result in this fixture, with the club still ‘buzzing’ over their thrashing of European champions Toulon.
The prop said to Premiership Rugby: “I think since I have been playing in the Premiership Exeter have always been one of the toughest games every year,”
“They are a fast, high-tempo team and they will present a massive challenge for us.
“It took a bit of brilliance from Joe (in reference to Simpson’s incredible try) last season for us to get the win and we came a bit unstuck at their place.”
The Chiefs last away win was a 41-3 thrashing at Kingston Park when they beat Newcastle, although Exeter have not won two away games in a row since September last year.
Wasps’ previous home loss to the Chiefs occured at Adams Park all the way back in April 2013.
Exeter centre Sam Hill has expressed how his team must play at their maximum potential if they are take a good result from Coventry.
“Wasps will be a massive test. We have analysed them this week and we have seen how well they have been going this year,”
“They have had some massive wins over the last few weeks. We know it is going to be really physical, it’s a massive game.”
“Their biggest threat is from turnovers, their back three are really quick – you could see that against Toulon.”
Wasps have scored over thirty points in their last three matches, including matches against Toulon and Leinster.
The match will kick-off at 5:30pm, Greg Garner will referee his 87th Premiership match, Kelvin Stewart and Nigel Carrick will be his assistants. Keith Lewis will be the TMO.
