Montpellier star extends contract

It has recently been announced that Top 14 side Montepellier have extended the contract of back-row player Fulgence Ouedraogo.

The 29 year-old will stay in France for another three years, with the French International putting pen to paper after his team’s 64-0 win over Calvisano in the Challenge Cup.

Ouedraogo has been playing in Montpellier for ten years, after signing for them in 2005.

He will remain at the Altrad Stadium until at least 2019.

Ouedraogo, who started playing rugby at the age of six, made his 200th appearance for his French club after playing in Friday’s Challenge Cup victory of Italian side Calvisano.

Montpellier are one of seven French teams in the European Challenge Cup this season and are currently second in their group, only behind Aviva Premiership team Harlequins.

Montpellier play La Rochelle in their next match, as they hope to continue to perform in a dominating fashion.

Ouedraogo’s team lie sixth in the Top 14 league.
