It’s not new news that England Rugby coach Stuart Lancaster has resigned, after a disappointing Six Nations and Rugby World Cup campaign.
In the Briton’s place comes Australian coach Eddie Jones, who directed Japan’s win over South Africa in this year’s World Cup.
The new England coach has stirred up a bit of an argument recently after telling RFUTV that ‘if [players] want to play for England, [they] play in the Premiership.’
Jones said that he wants players who want to play for England and, according to him, only English players in the Aviva Premiership wish to play in the famous, white kit.
Many will hope that Jones will bring the spirit, belief and enthusiasm that his Japan squad had and award it to the Red Roses.
The 55 year-old wishes to bring success back to the England national team, who crashed out of the pool stage of their Home World Cup, becoming the first home nation to do so.
Jones would hope to show off the ‘new’ England team to Europe when they play Scotland in the Six Nations in February.
