Stade Francais’ Champions Cup game against Munster on Sunday has been called off following the terror attacks that took place in Paris on Friday evening.
France is in a state of emergency after the attacks and officials of the club do not want to place extra work on the city’s police force as the investigations continue to track down those responsible for the horrendous actions which saw 129 killed and a further 352 injured.
In light of recent tragic events, Stade Francais don’t wish to complicate the situation for the public or complicate the work of the security forces and the government by organising a sporting event to bring together 15,000 people in the Stade Jean Bouin. The club has therefore decided to postpone the meeting.

Munster had been planning for the game to go ahead, they even held their pre-match press conference earlier today, however, their CEO Garrett Fitzgerald says the club completely understand the decision to postpone the game.
We fully understand the decision to postpone this weekend’s game and would not wish to hinder the work of government and security forces in what has been, and continues to be a very trying time for all in Paris and France.
Now our attention must switch to working with Stade Francais and EPCR in rescheduling the game for a time that is amenable to both sides.
European Professional Club Rugby called off all games that were scheduled to take place in France over the weekend, and it is likely that the Stade Francais/Munster game will be rescheduled for the same time as those games, although that is yet to be confirmed.
