Preview: Leicester Tigers v Wasps

It’s a classic derby, this fixture always meant something – even when Wasps were stationed in Wycombe. But now the boys in black and gold have moved to Coventry, this fixture means even more. Obviously, it’s Leicester Tigers Vs Wasps.

Welford Road is the venue with the match being played this Sunday, with both sides with an equal chance of winning.

Both teams have different form, the Tigers have won five in their previous six Aviva Premiership matches – their one loss being against Bath in the semi-final.

Wasps, however, have won three of their past six Premiership matches. The other three include a draw away to London Irish and a loss to Harlequins and Leicester.

The last time these two teams met was in May at the Ricoh Arena – the Tigers emerging victorious with a 21-26 win.

The Tigers have won five of their previous six meeting with Wasps, and I personally feel they’ll make it six out of seven.

Wasps have lost their past seven matches at Welford Road in all competitions.

The match will produce a great atmosphere, with both teams targeting the top four spots.

My Prediction (estimate): Tigers 30-25 Wasps

It will be close but I reckon that the Tigers would just have that support in their backs, making it easier for them to break the Wasps’ line.
