The Leicester Tigers have brought in two players who featured in the World Cup in an attempt to bolster their squad, as reported by Martin Crowson of The Leicester Mercury.
They have signed Tonga’s winger Telusa Veainu and brought in Canadian prop Djustice Sears-Duru on a month-long trial.

24-year-old Veainu originally played for New Zealand at youth levels, before switching to play for Tonga in this year’s Pacific Nations Cup. He scored an impressive four tries at the World Cup and is familiar with Tigers’ Head Coach Aaron Mauger who worked with him briefly at Canterbury.
Prop Sears-Duru was at the Tigers academy in the past and has been brought in to help ease the burden caused by injuries to Marcos Ayerza, Logo Mulipola and Michele Rizzo.
These are not the only two players that Leicester are expected to sign this week. Crowson reports that he expects The Tigers to bring in at least one more player this week, and he says it will be a ‘marquee centre’.
