Cipriani: I still want to play for England

Sale Sharks fly-half Danny Cipriani has said that he will not give up on playing for England again, having been cut from the England Rugby World Cup squad in favour of Owen Farrell and George Ford.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, he refused to criticise coach Stuart Lancaster for his decision and hopes that he can make a push to be included in the squad for next year’s Six Nations.

Cipriani has named Nick Easter as someone who he looks up to, saying that his experience of the game has helped his performances.

“I think you look at someone like Nick Easter and he is an inspiration.

“He’s 37 – though I think he has lied about his age and he’s about 42 – but he’s in great shape physically and he’s a passionate man and knows the game inside out.”

The 27-year-old has also said that he will try to perform at his best for his club, Sale in the Aviva Premiership this season, in the hope that he can push for an international call-up.

Cipriani has 14 international caps to his name and has amassed a total points score of 64 for his country.
