Ulster new signing set for season with Wasps

Ulster bound Charles Piutau has agreed a one-season deal with Wasps, according to BBC Sport.

The New Zealand international, who cannot play for the Pro12 side until July 2016 due to their foreign player allocation being full for this season, has agreed a deal with the English Premiership side for 2015-16.

The decision to join Ulster in a surprise move back in April when it seemed inevitable Piutau would re-sign with the Auckland Blues caused quite a stir in his homeland.

And the 23-year-old has had a rather turbulent time since signing for the Pro12 outfit.

New Zealand Rugby have not allowed the back to play Super Rugby for Blues until the move to Ulster is complete.

And in spite of his try against Argentina and man-of-the match performance against South Africa in the Rugby Championship, Piutau was not included in the All Blacks 31-man World Cup squad

The 23-year-old made his debut for the All Blacks against France in 2013 after being the top try-scorer for New Zealand’s winning Junior World Championship side.
