The Stormers have won four of their five games this season in all competitions. They are three wins from three at home and three pulled off a high scoring win over Scarlets. They scored eight tries in total and conceded six. They set the standard early scoring five in the first half to take a 33-14 lead into the break. The Scarlets made a comeback in the second half and with just under 15 minutes to go the score was 40-40.

Youngster Yaqeen Ahmed scored twice in the last six minutes to seal the win for the Stormers.

Ulster have had a strange season so far where they have looked very good in most matches, but their only win has come in the Challenge Cup. In the last round against the Bulls, Ulster went 21-0 behind, but a try on the brink of halftime brought the score back a little closer. Ulster would score three tries in the second half, but by conceding one and a penalty in the last play, they missed out on a losing bonus point.

The Stormers visit to Belfast last year ended in a 38-38 thriller where a controversial high-tackle decision in the final play helped the Stormers get a result. Nathan Doak looked as if he had held up in the tackle over the line, but the TMO intervened and decided that it was a high tackle, awarding a penalty try. All the other meetings have ended in a home victory.

Predictions

  • Stormers win
  • 65 points+ in the game
