Willis masterclass gives Toulouse historic Top 14 quadruple

Jack Willis turned Toulouse’s latest title night into a personal statement as the French champions beat Montpellier 28-20 to seal a historic fourth straight Top 14 crown.

The official Top 14 match centre confirmed Toulouse’s Stade de France victory on Saturday night, while the league’s own report framed it as the first quadruple of the professional Top 14 era.

Toulouse did the damage before half-time. Peato Mauvaka scored twice, Antoine Dupont added the third try, and Romain Ntamack’s boot stretched the lead to 25-6 before Montpellier’s late fightback tightened the scoreboard.

Willis gives England another selection reminder

Willis was later named man of the match by Top 14 after a brutal defensive performance. The league credited him with 17 tackles, four turnovers and heavy influence in the ruck, a familiar profile from a flanker England still cannot select while he remains based in France.

That is the bigger strategic sting. Toulouse already had Dupont, Ntamack and Thomas Ramos back on the main stage, but Willis gave them the control point when Montpellier, driven by Billy Vunipola’s pack presence, tried to turn the final into a set-piece grind.

The result also keeps Toulouse clear as the competition’s defining modern dynasty, with 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 now stacked together.
