Argentina pulled off a shock win over the Baby Blacks in the U20 Rugby Championship, but did find defeat against the Junior Boks and the Australian U20s.
In the Junior World Championship last season Argentina finished third, beating France, who finished above them in the groups stage. They lost out to the Junior Boks in the semifinal.

The USA haven’t competed in the U20 World Championship since 2013, where they lost all three of their games heavily. They have since competed in the U20 World Trophy. In the last edition of this competition, they reached the final, but were defeated by the hosts, Scotland.
