Munster have announced a second contract extension in the midst of difficult times for the club. They announced that Calvin Nash will stay at the province for two more years, having announced a similar renewal for youngster Edwin Edogbo the day before.

The winger has made 12 appearances for Ireland and is set to make his 100th for Munster in his next game.

Nash’s rise to Munster star

Nash came into the professional game through All-Ireland League rugby, which earned him a spot in the Munster Academy at 18. He made his senior debut in 2017 but wasn’t a key starter until the year of Munster‘s most recent success, the 2022/23 URC-winning campaign. Nash started 17 games that year and scored a try in the Grand Final.

Nash was captain of the Ireland Under-20s in 2017. He went on to play against the South African Currie Cup teams in an Emerging Ireland squad in 2022.

A strong tour earned him a place in the 2022 Autumn Series Ireland squad, and he made his international debut in a 2023 World Cup warm-up game. His first start came in the next Six Nations as he scored against France.

Munster and the 2025/26 season

The 2025/26 campaign has been a difficult one for Munster and for Nash. Nash has missed a majority of the season through injury.

Through a recent turn in form, they have pushed up to sixth in the URC. They will be in with a good chance of reaching the playoffs. Europe has been a different story. They only won once in their Champions Cup group. Dropping down to the Challenge Cup, they lost to Exeter Chiefs at the first time of asking. Their campaign came to an end at the Round of 16 stage.
