Wales vs France Women’s Six Nations preview as the sides clash at Cardiff Arms Park. 

Wales picked up a losing bonus point in the opening game of the Championship after a five-point defeat to Scotland. 

France currently sit top of the standings as they gathered a better points difference than England.

Wales haven’t won a game since October 2024 when they beat Japan in WXV 2. Their last Six Nations win came in the 2024 edition of the competition when they won 22-20 against Italy. In the opening round of the competition, they lost 24-19 to Scotland. Scotland attempted to kick a penalty in the final moments, which missed and didn’t go dead. Wales tried to counterattack to get a score which would win them the game, but they couldn’t go the length of the pitch.

France started the 2026 Six Nations positively with a 40-7 win over Italy. They finished fourth in the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup. They were defeated in the semi-final by eventual winners England and then lost in the third place match against the Black Ferns. In the opening round of the competition they defeated Italy 40-7. France only led 5-0 at half-time and Italy scored in the final play. France scored five tries in the second half.
