The Baby Blacks are the six time winners but haven’t won since 2017. They reached the final last year where they were defeated by the Junior Boks.

They beat Australia in their final group game 34-29. Despite conceding early, they dominated the remainder of proceedings and were 34-19 ahead with 20 minutes to go. Australia scored 10 points in the remaining time, but it wasn’t enough to catch France.
