The Stormers had a difficult spell after the Champions Cup break in January, losing their first three URC games. Since then, they have won two in a row against the Bulls and the Dragons. Against the Dragons in the last round, they took a 14-0 lead and kept the Dragons well out of touching distance as they cruised to a 29-21 win.

Edinburgh have only won one in their last six matches, which came at home to the Scarlets in the Six Nations fallow week. Since then, they have suffered two huge defeats to Ulster and the Lions. In the last round, Edinburgh found themselves 35-0 down at half-time, having conceded five converted tries. Both sides scored three in the second-half for the game to finish 54-17.
