Wales Player Ratings: France (A)

Wales kicked off the 2019 Six Nations with a 19-24 victory over France in Paris. Wet conditions played a huge part, with errors costing both teams, but Warren Gatland’s men came out on top at the Stade De France.

Two second half tries from George North and one from Tomos Williams saw the travelling side complete a brilliant come back after being 16-0 down at half-time. It is the third year in a row that Wales have won their opening game.

France started superbly, with Picamoles and Huget crossing the whitewash. But a strong Welsh comeback was completed when a wayward cross-field pass from lock Sebastien Vahaamahina was intercepted by George North who scored under the posts.

Wales will be hoping to carry this momentum into next week when they take on Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.

France also hit the road as they take on England at Twickenham.

Here’s how I rated the Wales team.
