England winger Elliot Daly will have a scan on his foot ahead of the Six Nations clash with Ireland after picking up an injury during the loss to France on the weekend, according to Sky Sports.
England’s loss to France handed the Six Nations title to Ireland, who are looking to secure the Grand Slam against England at Twickenham on Saturday.
However, England will be eager to deny them and will be extra motivated to beat the Irish, who have now leapfrogged them into second place in the world rankings behind New Zealand.
England manager Eddie Jones will be hoping to have a strong squad against Ireland but knows that he will be without back rowers Courtney Lawes and Nathan Hughes, who have both been ruled out with an injury.
Jones will now wait for news on Daly, who will be hoping that the injury to his foot is not significant enough to rule him out of the huge match.
Daly put in a satisfactory performance against France but could have been a lot better, like many of his teammates.
He provided a try-saving tackle and looked like he escaped the match without any injury, but England confirmed that he will have a scan this week.
