Wales centre Jonathan Davies gives hospital lifts to public

Wales centre Jonathan Davies gave patients, doctors and nurses lifts to and from hospital in Cardiff on Friday, the BBC report.

With many still needing to get to the hospitals, Davies took it upon himself to offer lifts to anyone that needed them in the stormy weather.

The Scarlets player earned plenty of praise for his efforts, as he continues his own recovery from injury.

Davies said he made around 12 trips to Cardiff’s main hospital, with his 4×4 one of a few vehicles that could manage the bad conditions.

The roads were quite bad, but as long as you took your time you were safe enough. It was just taking patients and doctors to and from the hospital and to their homes. Basically it was like a taxi service.

The Welsh centre still hasn’t featured for his country since badly injuring a foot in the dying moments of Wales’ defeat by Australia in November and is not expected play again this season.

Davies, who had been the Lions’ star player in their 2017 series draw against New Zealand also admitted that he was back to rehabilitation work on Saturday, with his public-spirited efforts on Friday getting plenty of praise across the country.
