Huw Jones believes Scotland need better away form

Huw Jones has revealed that Scotland will not be considered as one of the world’s best sides until they improve their form away from home, according to a report on BBC Sport.

The Scotland centre believes that his side needs to replicate their home performances when they are away to be considered as the best side in the world.

Jones made the comments following Scotland’s famous win over England at Murrayfield last weekend in the Six Nations.

The win was the first for the Scots over England in ten years and the win could prevent England from creating history as they are looking to become the first ever side to win three consecutive Six Nations titles.

Jones said:

We’ve turned Murrayfield into a bit of a fortress now. I think in our last nine games we’ve lost one and that was a real close one [against New Zealand in November].

If we’re going to become a really great team we’re going to have to start winning away, which we haven’t really done for a while.

That next game is a massive test and that’s what we’re thinking about now.

Jones scored two tries for Scotland in the 25-13 victory and believes that the team have improved massively since the opening round defeat to Wales.

Scotland faces Ireland in Dublin on Saturday and will be looking to put in a similar performance, but without their home fans cheering them on, it could prove to be quite difficult against an in-form Ireland side.
