Sale captain Seymour retires after 15 years

Sale flanker David Seymour has called it a day on his career in rugby union, ending a 15 year career in the sport.

The 33-year-old Seymour was made club captain in 2012, and made 196 appearances for Sale since joining from Saracens in 2009.

The High Wycombe-native joined Saracens in 2003, making 73 appearances before being released prior to the start of the 2009/10 season.

In addition to his club career, Seymour made England appearances for England at under-21 level in the Six Nations and World Champions, and represented his country in the Rugby 7s format at various IRB competitions, and won a silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
