Ireland match winner Johnny Sexton has revealed that a flashback from a club match against Benetton Treviso gave him the ability to handle the pressure in Ireland’s dramatic 15-13 Six Nations victory over France, Sky Sports report.
Winger Teddy Thomas looked to have done enough for the French, who were in the lead at the Stade de France after 80 minutes, thanks to his 71st minute try.
However, Sexton sealed the win for Ireland three minutes into the last play, when he converted a drop goal attempt after a patient 41 phase move, which started inside Ireland’s half.

Speaking to the media after the match, Ireland’s fly-half admitted a previous club experience playing away to Italian side Benetton Treviso helped him attempt the last play of the game.
I went back to many years ago when we played Treviso away and I was in an almost identical position and just flashed back to that, it just got there in the end!
Sexton also converted four penalties along with the drop goal, as Ireland remain on course for a potential Grand Slam, thanks mainly to the boot of the Leinster man.
